• ResMed S9 Elite™ Mask-Fit System
  
  ResMed has incorporated an easy to use and effective tool to help you with proper mask fitting. The Mask-Fit system allows users to preset a mask type, tailoring the S9 CPAP therapy to a particular mask style:

  • Nasal
  • Pillows
  • Full Face

  Once set, the Mask-Fit system runs a 3 minute seal integrity test, prior to therapy treatment. After 3 minutes, a Mask-Fit icon appears (a green or red smiley face). If the smiley face is red, that means adjustments are required until the smiley face turns green, at which time, therapy will begin. 

• EPR with Quiet, Easy-Breathe Technology
  
  The ResMed S9's enhanced Easy-Breathe technology makes breathing on the S9 more quiet than ever. In addition to EPR, the S9 Elite™ synchronizes the user's inspiratory and expiratory cycle which allows for a more natural delivery of pressure and keeps the motor whisper-quiet during operation. This technology allows the S9 Series to operate at 24dBA when set to 10cm of pressure (at one meter). 
  

• Expiratory Pressure Relief (EPR)
  
  EPR reduces pressure upon exhalation to maximize the feeling of comfort while exhalation over pressure. The pressure is reduced by one, two or three cm/h20 from your set pressure.  EPR also uses an advanced Event Detection technology so that when an apnea event lasts longer than 10 seconds, EPR stops until the event concludes and normal breathing with EPR resumes.
